Collection: CORE Vancouver – Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education
To become a hunter, BC residents must complete the Conservation Outdoor Recreation Education Program (CORE). The CORE program provides an overview of hunting laws, ethics, animal identification, and firearms safety.
EatWild is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive learning experience. There is a lot to learn to be a safe, successful and ethical hunter. We are here to help!
The EatWild CORE class is delivered over seventeen hours of mandatory course requirements and testing. This includes 16 hours of classroom and one hour of testing. This course includes the CORE exam fee. The exam will be held at the end of the second day.
EatWild offers free how-to-hunt videos and podcast lessons for additional learning and support. We encourage you to check out this content, as it will help you on your learning journey.

Additional Information
Eatwild offers much more than just your hunting license certification in our Core class. Unlike other core classes, Eatwild introduces you to how to be a successful hunter. We discuss where and how to find game in British Columbia. We introduce you to effective hunting techniques. Join us, and become part Eatwild community of ethical hunters.
You need the Conservation Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) course to get a hunting licence in BC. Once you finish the curriculum successfully you will apply to the BC Wildlife Federation who will issue you a CORE Certificate. Once you have your CORE Certificate, you can then apply to the Provincial Government for your BC Resident Hunter Number. Once you have been issued your Hunter Number, you can now buy BC Hunting Licenses. You will have your hunter number for life, and you will never have to go through this process again.
Cancellation Policy
Because of the limited number of seats and the cost of administering the class, we require all registered students to make every effort to attend so we can run a full class. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate refunds for cancellations within seven days of the class start date. Thank you for your support of this policy.
FAQs
Step 1: Complete the CORE class. After completing the exam, you will receive a signed Registration Form from your CORE instructor.
