CORE Online - British Columbia Hunter Safety Course
Online Self-Paced BC Hunter Safety Course (CORE)
Our online CORE class captures our welcoming, inclusive, and informative CORE class lectures with our EatWild mentors. These sessions and our learn-to-hunt field videos and podcast storytelling create a fun and comprehensive learning experience.
To become a hunter, BC residents must complete the Conservation Outdoor Recreation Education Program (CORE). The CORE program provides an overview of hunting laws, ethics, animal identification, and firearms safety.
The CORE course is delivered over 16 parts. Each part includes a lecture, video learning, links to podcast content, and quizzes. There are 18 hours of materials required for course completion, with much more bonus supplemental content included.
To enhance the learning experience, we offer a 2-hour online CORE class review and live Q&A with our EatWild mentor team each month. Students registering for the EatWild Online CORE Class are permitted free review and Q&A session access. This is a great opportunity to meet the EatWild team, build community with other new hunters, and ensure you are prepared for the CORE test.
EatWild offers much more than just your hunting license certification in our CORE class. Our team goes beyond other CORE classes in sharing knowledge, skills, and a passion for hunting. We believe that our hunting community must be diverse and inclusive so we ensure a respectful and welcoming learning environment. We shape our students to be successful by introducing our ethical approach to hunting.
Throughout the course, we will discuss where and how to find game in British Columbia, while introducing you to effective hunting techniques for species in the province. Most importantly, we believe in building a community with shared ethics and common values, stemming from a respect for wildlife and the wild places they call home. So, join us, and become a part of the EatWild community of ethical hunters.
Following completion of the online CORE class, EatWild students must take the CORE exam. EatWild hosts a monthly CORE exam. You can book your test here with EatWild. If you are outside of the Lower Mainland, or if you can’t make one of the scheduled CORE tests, you can contact any of the CORE Examiners throughout BC.
Students must complete the CORE exam and a practical firearms exam, unless they can demonstrate they have completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course by presenting their CFSC report form at the exam. Book Your CORE Test Now
