Build confidence and skills staying safe in bear country

Learning Objectives

By the end of the day, participants will be able to:

  • Understand why bears behave the way they do
  • Recognize bear habitat, sign, and seasonal risk
  • Make smart decisions when travelling, working, and supervising kids
  • Respond appropriately to bear encounters and aggressive behaviour
  • Correctly and confidently deploy bear spray
  • Take immediate action during and after a bear attack
  • Provide first aid and call for help in a remote setting

What You’ll Do

We will spend a day in the field learning how to proactively avoid encounters with bears. You will have the opportunity to build skills and confidence using bear spray.

Workshop costs

$2,200 – $2,500 CAD

This flat rate covers up to 14 participants and includes all facilitation, materials, and coordination.
