Join authors Rachel Greening (PhD) and Spencer Greening (PhD) for the launch of GYETK: Coastal Fusion and Ancestral Knowledge from a Ts'msyen Kitchen, published by Wellfleet Press. Pronounced GY-E-TK, the title means "to feed the people," and that is exactly what this afternoon is about. Rachel and Spencer will walk guests through the stories, harvesting practices, and ancestral knowledge behind the book, supported by photography, video, and slides, while a selection of tasting bites drawn straight from its recipes is served throughout. Expect coastal ingredients prepared with a contemporary hand: herring roe, seal, nettle, spruce tip, salmon berries. Tickets are by donation, with all proceeds going to Indigenous Women Outdoors in British Columbia. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to sit with good food and good stories.
