Wilderness Ready: Field Skills Workshop

Build the confidence and skills to explore wilderness and get home safe.

The Wilderness Ready Field Skills Workshop is a hands-on, one-day outdoor learning experience designed to build confidence, practical skills, and comfort in forested wilderness environments. This workshop supports nature-curious learners in strengthening their ability to travel, navigate, harvest, and spend time safely on the land — whether for hunting, foraging, exploring, or simply reconnecting with nature.

Participants will learn essential field skills, including trip planning, navigation using maps, compass, and digital navigation tools, fire building, outdoor cooking, shelter setup, and emergency preparedness. The day is grounded in experiential learning, shared knowledge, and community, with time to practice skills in a supportive group setting.

By the end of the workshop, participants will feel more capable, confident, and prepared to spend time on the land safely and independently — equipped with practical tools, awareness, and a stronger connection to place.
